Center Information
Located on Chincoteague Island, Virginia, the Chincoteague Center is the ideal choice for your wedding, convention, meeting, concerts, trade show, theatrical/musical production or any special event.
The Chincoteague Center is operated by The Chincoteague Recreation and Convention Center Authority of Chincoteague, Virginia. The Chincoteague Center was opened in 1996 with the goal of promoting commerce and tourism as well as provide a facility for community use and commercial rental opportunities. It was built without cost to the taxpayers of Chincoteague or Accomack County and is operated on a fee basis.
With the capacity for events ranging from 20-800 people, The Center offers the flexibility to rearrange walls to offer a space of 750 square feet to space of 9000 square feet meeting any of your needs. Our spacious lobby, restroom facilities and kitchen provide everything needed for a successful event. Our kitchen offers warming ovens, ice machine, soda service machine, sink, refrigerator and freezer. Local caterers, although preparing your food at their restaurants,have everything they need in our facility kitchen to ensure your meal is hot and delicious.
Electrical outlets and jacks for outside phone and DSL wireless internet access is available.Conduits for additional service and a cargo door are available to accommodate exhibits and show equipment.The building will handle as many as sixty-five 8' X 8' booths, or twenty-nine 8' x 8', and twenty-four 10' x 10' booths. The building is equipped with a catering kitchen and a ticket booth.
Tables and chairs are included in your rental agreement. Our tables are 6' x 2.5'. We do not offer table linens but they are available through your caterer or wedding designer.
The Chincoteague Center offers a variety of services and equipment. A stage as well as a runway are also available. Please review our rental information tab for more details.
Rental of our facility for weddings have two room choices. The entire Center which is 9,000 sq ft or the Main Hall which is 6,000 sq ft. Center policy does not allow wedding rentals for classroom sizes only.
